emi & enzo

Enzo started school today! He was stoked to be there, and was engaged immediately. At one point he walked up to the teacher, Sunshine, and said “Hey! Are you having a baby?”

Thankfully, she is actually pregnant.

We left after about half hour, and he was fine. When went to pick him up, the teacher told us that “He owns the yard.”

He has changed so much in the past year. It is remarkable and a little bit sad too. He’s a little boy now. No going back.

Emi up at 4am this morning. Not cool. Her canines are coming in strong, and she can really crawl. She can pull herself up to standing now too.

Epic playdate with Adam, Harry and Vivien. Homemade donuts. Water slide. Zipline. Kiddie pool. Enzo was happy to have the boys over.

Kids played and played for almost five hours.

Rest of the day spent relaxing. Playing with toys, watching TV.

Surprise offer from Marcia to babysit last night, so we were feeling a bit groggy from our night out at Palate in Glendale.

Emi of course woke up at 5AM, and Enzo also soon after. Enzo was sad that Marcia wasnt still there in the morning. We spent the day playing in the front yard, and then up to Metcalfs to see baby Eric for the first time. The boys played with the new Batcave.

Emi has been working on it for a few weeks, but today we’ll say she can officially crawl. She’s also got her two top canine teeth coming in, but no front teeth yet. Not sure that’s going to be a good look. She’s also getting much better about riding in the car. Not sitting with her in the back seat makes her less stressed about wanting to be held.

Some Pacific Oaks kids coming over for zipline and donuts tomorrow morning.

Zoe on call last night. Emi got tough love from Daddy. Slept in the crib, and no bottle, and no cradling back to sleep. She never cried for more than a couple minutes. Did great.

Two birthday parties today. Maya and Brendan.

First Maya out in Redondo beach. Emi handled the car ride, then slept on mommy. Enzo and I walked to the pond to see turtles, then played on the structure. Enzo painted a picture too.

Back home to chill then to Gymboree for second party. Emi fell asleep on my shoulder right before we left. Very sweet.

The Gymboree party was insane. Lots of boys. Completely nuts. Lots of bumped heads, shoves, jumping, laughing, shouting, tears, and cake. Emi tried crawling on the matt. So close. We should put some focused effort on that.

Back home both kids melted down soon. Bath together, then tears of exhaustion before bed.

Emi turned 6 months today and this is as good a day as any to start up our blog again.  She has changed so much it would be nice to document some of these changes because this time is so fleeting.  She is a full on little person now with a distinctive personality.  The best development over the last 3 months is her love of her dad and her big brother – no one can make her laugh her squeaky belly laughs like those two.

She had the usual day with Alex except today we started feeding her solid food!  A little bit of peach yogurt to start the day, then some carrots.  She slept longer and better than usual tonight…wonder if that is related to the solid food?

Her eyes are still blue, although her left eye is definitely darker than the right.
